Abstract

JEMIO ARNEZ, Kathya  and  ARANGO NAVARRO, Fernando Aquiles.   Culture and safety perception under Ciudad Botero's appearance. Rev. aportes de la comunicación [online]. 2017, n.22, pp.27-37. ISSN 2306-8671.

ABSTRACT Ciudad Botero, with thirty thousand square metres [1], makes a historic and cultural part of the city's primal centre, for which it exists a pedestrian, inhabitant and tourism recovery vision. Nevertheless, after unsuccessful approaches to better perception of security, vehicular caos and delinquency, these two faces of Ciudad Botero are under tension, which has an impact on culture and history visitors arrival. The photographs coming from the Archivo del Metro de Medellín, from the AHA, from the Bibioteca Pública Piloto, from the Archivo del MA, from private collections and from fieldwork, serve as support for analysis. They discribe and relate urbanistic interventions with social changes and local users.

Keywords : centre's recovery; Ciudad Botero; photography.
