Abstract

MURILLO ALIAGA, Mauricio. The future is a chenk'o: The exaggerated adventures of ex-Bolivians in the galaxy in De cuando en cuando Saturnina by Alison Spedding. Rev Cien Cult [online]. 2017, vol.21, n.38, pp.191-204. ISSN 2077-3323.

Critical approach to the novel De cuando en cuando Saturnina (2004) by Alison Spedding. The paper argues that Spedding's book is a parody of the cyberpunk novels from an Andean literary base, both culturally and linguistically. The author proposes to call this literary genre p'ajpa cyberpunk, characterizing this by its spatiotemporal anachronism. Spedding's novel would go even further by posing as a new version of the cyberpunk, insofar as it does not propose miscegenation, but a delirious and disorderly hybridity. Finally, it is indicated that the novel is written from a feminist point of view.
