This article presents the results of research on the mechanisms of power that are exercised by means of sexual violence against Guaraní women in Yacuiba. The author examines the political, material and symbolic contení of that power. She also explores the pathways followed by women who have suffered violence in the search for justice and the response of the ordinary and indigenous justice systems.
