Abstract

GARCIA YAPURA, Fernando L. National identity and citizenship in the era of the Plurinational State. Tinkazos [online]. 2014, vol.17, n.35, pp.1-1. ISSN 1990-7451.

This article analyses the relationship between national identity and citizenship from the perspective of political participation by rural and indigenous people and, with it, the creation of mediation mechanisms and political exchanges established by these subjects with the nation-state projects of the elites. Within this framework, it reflects on the compound identity of rural and indigenous people - both “inclusive” and “exclusive” of citizenship and the development of the (Plurinational) State - brought about with and through the MAS-IPSP in the context of representative democracy

Keywords : national identity; citizenship; nation-state; rural-indigenous people; Movement for Socialism; Plurinational State.
