Abstract

BETANCUR, Heber Nehemias Chui et al. Hydrogeochemistry of medicinal mineral waters from the province of Melgar, Puno-Peru. Rev. Inv. Cs. Agro. y Vet. [online]. 2023, vol.7, n.19, pp.184-192.  Epub Apr 19, 2023. ISSN 2664-0902.  https://doi.org/10.33996/revistaalfa.v7i19.208.

The medicinal mining waters of the province of Melgar in the region of Puno in Peru, are located at high altitude, with medicinal and / or recreational use, so it is necessary to know their characteristics, in this sense the study had the purpose to identify the hydrogeochemical characteristics of medicinal mineral waters from the province of Melgar, Puno in Peru. For the study, information has been collected on the physical and chemical parameters of the medicinal mining wells in the province of Melgar, Puno. The technique of Piper diagrams was applied in order to characterize the types of medicinal mineral water. The results indicated that the predominant cation in the Pasanoccollo pools; Santa Rosa; Huamanruro; Andaymarca and Pojcpoquella, was the Na+ ion, with 84.33%; 56.35%; 50.60%; 64.16% and 73.97% presence, respectively, while in the Macarí pool the cation that predominated the most is Ca2+ with 42.54%. Regarding the anions, SO_4^(2-) and Cl- are the anions that predominated. Cl- was the predominant anion in the Santa Rosa pools; Huamanruro; Macari; Andaymarca and Pojcpoquella with 74.43%; 67.22%; 58.57%; 58.34 % and 70.79 % presence, respectively, while in the Pasanoccollo pool the predominant anion is SO_4^(2-) with 58.37 %, from these results we can conclude that the pools are in a framework stratigraphic and structural of the medicinal mining waters, is formed by red sandstones and conglomerate rocks.
