CONITZER, Alejandra Echazú. “I Have Always Tried to Let You Know Where I Am”: The Chaco in the Epistolary Genre. Rev Cien Cult [online]. 2024, vol.28, n.53, pp.89-115.  Epub 11-Dez-2024. ISSN 2077-3323.  https://doi.org/10.35319/rcyc.2024521323.

The young Bolivian poet Yolanda Bedregal receives letters from her friends-painters, writers, poets- from the war zone in the Chaco (1932-1935). These letters reflect the intimate and sorrowful lives of these young men, whose student lives were cut short and who had to learn to kill people they didn’t even see as enemies. These unpublished missives form a small archive of a larger one that would be impossible to include in a magazine.

Palavras-chave : Chaco War; Yolanda Bedregal; Raúl de Béjar; Luis Mendizábal Santa Cruz; Gil Coimbra Ojopi; Donato Olmos Peñaranda; Rafael Otazo; Walter Montenegro; Carlos Lanza; epistolary correspondence..
