El objetivo de la presente investigación fue identificar las especies bacterianas en superficies de ambulancias del Servicio de Atención de Salud Móvil, de la ciudad de Azogues. Materiales y métodos: Estudio cuantitativo, descriptivo y de corte transversal, en el período marzo - abril 2024. Se tomaron 100 muestras de superficies de cinco ambulancias después de la desinfección. La cual consiste según protocolo establecido: superficies críticas se esterilizan, semicríticas se desinfectan con alto nivel, y no críticas se limpian con alcohol al 70%. Las muestras fueron tomadas en medio de enriquecimiento tioglicolato, debidamente identificado y llevado al laboratorio para el análisis microbiológico. Se incubaron por 24 horas a 37ºC ± 1 oC. Los resultados se analizaron mediante estadística descriptiva. Resultados: Se identificaron 10 especies de bacterias patógenas potenciales y 90 especies de bacterias no patógenas aisladas en la camilla y el collar cervical (30%) que mostraron las proporciones de contaminación más elevada. Klebsiella pneumoniae (50%) fue el microorganismo aislado en mayor porcentaje, seguida de Escherichia coli (20%) y Enterobacter cloacae (20%) y Staphylococcus aureus (10%). Las bacterias no patógenas que se aislaron fueron Bacillus spp (53,3%) y Staphylococcus coagulasa negativa (46,7%). El Staphylococcus aureus fue resistente a la meticilina (MRSA), no se encontraron enterobacterias productoras de BLEE. Las especies bacterianas en las superficies después de la limpieza y antes de la limpieza, demostró una correlación significativa p&lt;0,01. Conclusiones: El estudio reveló la presencia de bacterias patógenas potenciales en las superficies de ambulancias del SASM de Azogues, microorganismos que se asocian con infecciones intrahospitalarias, que podrían poner en riesgo la salud y la vida de los pacientes.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT Introduction: The presence of microorganisms causing infectious diseases in ambulances poses risks to public health, affecting patients, companions, and paramedical staff. The objective of this research was to identify bacterial species on the surfaces of ambulances from the Mobile Health Care Service in Azogues. Materials and Methods: A quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted from March to April 2024. One hundred surface samples were taken from five ambulances after disinfection, following established protocols: critical surfaces were sterilized, semi-critical surfaces were disinfected at a high level, and non-critical surfaces were cleaned with 70% alcohol. Samples were taken in thioglycolate enrichment medium, properly identified, and sent to the laboratory for microbiological analysis. They were incubated for 24 hours at 37ºC ± 1ºC. Results were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Results: Ten potential pathogenic bacterial species and 90 non-pathogenic species were identified on the stretcher and cervical collar (30%), showing the highest contamination rates. Klebsiella pneumoniae (50%) was the most frequently isolated microorganism, followed by Escherichia coli (20%), Enterobacter cloacae (20%), and Staphylococcus aureus (10%). Non-pathogenic bacteria isolated included Bacillus spp (53.3%) and coagulase-negative Staphylococcus (46.7%). Staphylococcus aureus was methicillin-resistant (MRSA), and no extended-spectrum beta-lactamase-producing enterobacteria were found. The correlation between bacterial species on surfaces before and after cleaning was significant (p&lt;0.01). Conclusions: The study revealed the presence of potential pathogenic bacteria on the surfaces of ambulances from the Mobile Health Care Service in Azogues, microorganisms associated with hospital-acquired infections that could jeopardize patient health and safety.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[RESUMO Introdução: A presença de microrganismos causadores de doenças infecciosas em ambulâncias representa riscos à saúde pública, afetando pacientes, acompanhantes e pessoal paramédico. O objetivo desta pesquisa foi identificar as espécies bacterianas nas superfícies das ambulâncias do Serviço de Atendimento Móvel de Saúde na cidade de Azogues. Materiais e Métodos: Estudo quantitativo, descritivo e transversal realizado no período de março a abril de 2024. Foram coletadas 100 amostras de superfícies de cinco ambulâncias após a desinfecção, seguindo protocolos estabelecidos: superfícies críticas foram esterilizadas, superfícies semicríticas foram desinfetadas em alto nível e superfícies não críticas foram limpas com álcool a 70%. As amostras foram coletadas em meio de enriquecimento tioglicolato, devidamente identificadas e levadas ao laboratório para análise microbiológica. Foram incubadas por 24 horas a 37ºC ± 1ºC. Os resultados foram analisados por estatística descritiva. Resultados: Foram identificadas 10 espécies bacterianas patogênicas potenciais e 90 espécies bacterianas não patogênicas isoladas na maca e no colar cervical (30%), que mostraram as maiores proporções de contaminação. Klebsiella pneumoniae (50%) foi o microrganismo isolado em maior porcentagem, seguido por Escherichia coli (20%), Enterobacter cloacae (20%) e Staphylococcus aureus (10%). As bactérias não patogênicas isoladas foram Bacillus spp (53,3%) e Staphylococcus coagulase negativa (46,7%). O Staphylococcus aureus foi resistente à meticilina (MRSA), e não foram encontradas enterobactérias produtoras de BLEE. As espécies bacterianas nas superfícies após a limpeza e antes da limpeza demonstraram uma correlação significativa p&lt;0,01.
