La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo identificar las dificultades que enfrentan los estudiantes universitarios en el desarrollo de la expresión oral en inglés como lengua extranjera y las estrategias para mejorar esta habilidad. Para ello se realizó una revisión sistemática basada en el método PRISMA, donde se analizaron 27 estudios publicados a partir del 2020. Los hallazgos indicaron entre las principales dificultades el vocabulario limitado, la falta de confianza, la ansiedad, la escasez de oportunidades para practicar y las limitaciones en la enseñanza. Las estrategias propuestas incluyen el uso de las TIC, métodos interactivos como juegos de rol y debates, y enfoques centrados en el estudiante que fomentan la participación activa. Se concluye que es fundamental adoptar la combinación de técnicas pedagógicas innovadoras con apoyo emocional para promover un aprendizaje más inclusivo y motivador.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Oral expression in English as a foreign language is essential for effective communication. This research aimed to identify the difficulties faced by university students in developing oral expression in English as a foreign language and the strategies to improve this skill. A systematic review was conducted based on the PRISMA method, analyzing 27 studies published from 2020 onwards. The findings indicated that the main difficulties included limited vocabulary, lack of confidence, anxiety, scarcity of practice opportunities, and teaching limitations. Proposed strategies include the use of ICT, interactive methods such as role-playing and debates, and student-centered approaches that foster active participation. It is concluded that it is crucial to adopt a combination of innovative pedagogical techniques with emotional support to promote a more inclusive and motivating learning environment.]]></p></abstract>
