La presente investigación tiene como objetivo determinar la incidencia del uso del TikTok en el rendimiento académico en estudiantes del 5to grado IES San Jerónimo-Asillo, en Perú. Se trabajó un enfoque cuantitativo con un diseño descriptivo-correlacional no experimental. La población de estudio fue constituida por 216 estudiantes, la muestra es de tipo no probabilística que fue constituida por 139 estudiantes. Los principales resultados destacan en relación a la incidencia del uso del TikTok y rendimiento académico, el el 74.8% de los estudiantes se ubica en el nivel regular, y el 25.2% en el alto. Se concluye que los alumnos que usan TikTok frecuentemente presentan un rendimiento académico regular, lo que indica que el tiempo dedicado a la plataforma puede distraer de las responsabilidades académicas.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The use of TikTok can negatively affect the academic performance of 5th grade students by encouraging procrastination and distracting from their school responsibilities. The present research aims to determine the incidence of TikTok use on academic performance in 5th grade students at IES San Jerónimo-Asillo, in Peru. A quantitative approach was used with a non-experimental descriptive-correlational design. The study population consisted of 216 students, the sample is non-probabilistic and consisted of 139 students. The main results stand out in relation to the incidence of TikTok use and academic performance, 74.8% of students are at the regular level, and 25.2% at the high level. It is concluded that students who frequently use TikTok have a regular academic performance, which indicates that the time spent on the platform can distract from academic responsibilities.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[RESUMO A utilização do TikTok pode afetar negativamente o desempenho académico dos alunos do 5º ano, incentivando a procrastinação e distraindo-os das responsabilidades escolares. O objetivo desta investigação é determinar a incidência da utilização do TikTok no desempenho académico dos alunos do 5º ano da IES San Jerónimo-Asillo, no Peru. Foi utilizada uma abordagem quantitativa com um desenho descritivo-correlacional não experimental. A população do estudo foi constituída por 216 alunos, a amostra é não probabilística e foi constituída por 139 alunos. Os principais resultados destacam-se em relação à incidência da utilização do TikTok e ao desempenho académico, 74,8% dos alunos encontram-se no nível regular, e 25,2% no nível elevado. Conclui-se que os alunos que utilizam frequentemente o TikTok apresentam um desempenho académico regular, o que indica que o tempo dedicado à plataforma pode desviar a atenção das responsabilidades académicas.]]></p></abstract>
