Esta se traduce en la cantidad de superficie ecológicamente productiva necesaria para generar los recursos consumidos por cada persona, así como la cantidad de tierra requerida para absorber los residuos generados en los diversos procesos productivos. El objetivo de esta investigación fue identificar los factores determinantes de la huella ecológica en el Perú entre 2011 y 2021. Para ello, se adoptó un enfoque cuantitativo, con un diseño no experimental de tipo descriptivo y correlacional, utilizando el modelo de efectos fijos. Se empleó información disponible en el Instituto Nacional de Estadística e Informática, el Ministerio del Ambiente y el Banco Central de Reserva del Perú. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que, en las ciudades más pobladas, como Lima, Arequipa y Trujillo, la variable que más impacta en la huella ecológica es la generación de residuos sólidos. Un incremento del 1% en esta variable incrementa la huella en un 7,8%. Le sigue el crecimiento del parque automotor, que también contribuye en un 7,8%, y, finalmente, el consumo de energía eléctrica. Para reducir la huella ecológica, es crucial implementar políticas de concienciación ambiental a nivel nacional y adoptar un modelo económico sostenible a largo plazo. En conclusión, se puede afirmar que las variables Parque automotor, consumo de energía eléctrica y generación de residuos sólidos fueron los principales determinantes de la huella ecológica en el Perú durante el periodo 2011-2021.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The ecological footprint, also known as the environmental footprint, is a measure that allows us to evaluate the impact generated by human activities on the planet. This translates into the amount of ecologically productive surface necessary to generate the resources consumed by each person, as well as the amount of land required to absorb the waste generated in the various production processes. The objective of this research was to identify the determining factors of the ecological footprint in Perú between 2011 and 2021. To do so, a quantitative approach was adopted, with a non-experimental descriptive and correlational design, using the fixed effects model. Information available at the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics, the Ministry of the Environment and the Central Reserve Bank of Perú was used. The results obtained show that, in the most populated cities, such as Lima, Arequipa and Trujillo, the variable that most impacts the ecological footprint is the generation of solid waste. A 1% increase in this variable increases the footprint by 7.8%. This is followed by the growth of the vehicle fleet, which also contributes 7.8%, and finally, the consumption of electric energy. To reduce the ecological footprint, it is crucial to implement environmental awareness policies at the national level and adopt a sustainable economic model in the long term. In conclusion, it can be stated that the variables Vehicle fleet, electric energy consumption and generation of solid waste were the main determinants of the ecological footprint in Perú during the period 2011-2021.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[RESUMO A pegada ecológica, também conhecida como pegada ambiental, é uma medida que permite avaliar o impacto gerado pelas atividades humanas no planeta. Isso se traduz na quantidade de superfície ecologicamente produtiva necessária para gerar os recursos consumidos por cada pessoa, bem como na quantidade de terra necessária para absorver os resíduos gerados nos diversos processos de produção. O objetivo desta pesquisa foi identificar os fatores determinantes da pegada ecológica no Perú entre 2011 e 2021. Para tanto, adotou-se uma abordagem quantitativa, com delineamento descritivo e correlacional não experimental, utilizando o modelo de efeitos fixos. Foram utilizadas informações disponíveis no Instituto Nacional de Estatística e Informática, no Ministério do Meio Ambiente e no Banco Central de Reserva do Perú. Os resultados obtidos mostram que, nas cidades mais populosas, como Lima, Arequipa e Trujillo, a variável que mais impacta na pegada ecológica é a geração de resíduos sólidos. Um aumento de 1% nessa variável aumenta a pegada em 7,8%. Em seguida, vem o crescimento da frota de veículos, que também contribui com 7,8%, e, por fim, o consumo de energia elétrica. Para reduzir a pegada ecológica, é fundamental implementar políticas de conscientização ambiental em nível nacional e adotar um modelo econômico sustentável de longo prazo. Concluindo, pode-se afirmar que as variáveis frota de veículos, consumo de energia elétrica e geração de resíduos sólidos foram os principais determinantes da pegada ecológica no Perú durante o período 2011-2021.]]></p></abstract>
