El objetivo de la investigación fue examinar las relaciones entre fuentes de emisiones y remociones de CO2 a través de un análisis de componentes principales (ACP) y conglomerados jerárquicos. La investigación se desarrolló mediante un diseño observacional de cohorte retrospectivo. Fueron analizados datos públicos del Inventario Nacional de Gases de Efecto Invernadero (INGEI) en el período 2000-2019. Los resultados muestran que los sectores relacionados con la Agricultura, Silvicultura y Otros Usos de la Tierra (ASOUT) son los que más generan CO2 a la atmósfera. El ACP permitió reducir la información disponible de 78 variables a siete CP y dos cluster. Se concluye que la aplicación de ACP permitió identificar patrones en los datos resultantes de la clasificación de las fuentes y sumideros generadores de emisiones de CO2 en diferentes sectores económicos del país.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The emission of CO2, among its negative impacts, contributes to the global warming of the planet. The objective of the research was to examine the relationships between sources of CO2 emissions and removals through a Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Hierarchical Classification. The study was conducted using a retrospective observational cohort design. Public data from the National Greenhouse Gas Inventory (INGEI) for the period 2000-2019 were analyzed. The results indicate that sectors related to Agriculture, Forestry, and Other Land Uses (ASOUT) are the major CO2 emitters. The PCA reduced the available information from 78 variables to seven principal components and two clusters. It is concluded that the application of PCA helped identify patterns in the data resulting from the classification of sources and sinks generating CO2 emissions in different economic sectors of the country.]]></p></abstract>

O objetivo da pesquisa foi examinar as relações entre fontes de emissões e remoções de CO2 por meio de uma análise de Componentes Principais (ACP) e Classificação Hierárquica. O estudo foi conduzido por meio de um desenho observacional de coorte retrospectivo. Foram analisados dados públicos do Inventário Nacional de Gases de Efeito Estufa (INGEI) no período de 2000 a 2019. Os resultados mostram que os setores relacionados à Agricultura, Silvicultura e Outros Usos da Terra (ASOUT) são os maiores geradores de CO2 na atmosfera.
