El presente artículo tiene como objetivo determinar la importancia del engagement laboral y académico como un constructo en la contribución del estado mental de los colaboradores para el buen desempeño dentro de la institución. A partir de un enfoque cualitativo, se empleó el diseño basado en revisión sistemática orientado a documentos nacionales y globales. Se hizo uso de base de datos como: Scopus, Science Direct, Web of Science, Scielo y se empleó el análisis documental. En los resultados se evidencia que el engagement mantiene relación directa con la calidad de la enseñanza, el aprendizaje activo y la implicancia del alumnado en su instrucción educativa. Respecto a lo laboral, el engagement brinda amor propio, felicidad, inmersión hacia el desarrollo de las labores. Se llega a la conclusión que el engagement brinda a los involucrados de mecanismos que hacen frente a las adversidades encontradas en su centro laboral, concretando los objetivos propuestos por el mismo, señalando la importancia que deben de dar las instituciones y empresas en la atención a este constructo para evitar su deterioro.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT In recent years, numerous studies have shown relationships between job demands and resources and how these have helped to understand, explain and predict employee well-being. This article aims to determine the importance of work and academic engagement as a construct in the contribution of employees' mental state to good performance within the institution. Based on a qualitative approach, a systematic review design oriented to national and global documents was used. Databases such as: Scopus, Science Direct, Web of Science, Scielo and documentary analysis were used. The results show that engagement is directly related to teaching quality, active learning and student involvement in their educational instruction. Regarding work, engagement provides self-esteem, happiness, and immersion in the development of work. It is concluded that engagement provides those involved with mechanisms to face the adversities encountered in their workplace, concretizing the objectives proposed by it, pointing out the importance that institutions and companies should give to this construct in order to avoid its deterioration.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[RESUMO Nos últimos anos, numerosos estudos têm mostrado relações entre as exigências e os recursos do trabalho e como estes têm ajudado a compreender, explicar e prever o bem-estar dos funcionários. Este artigo visa determinar a importância do trabalho e do engajamento acadêmico como uma construção na contribuição do estado mental dos funcionários para o bom desempenho dentro da instituição. Com base em uma abordagem qualitativa, foi utilizado um projeto de revisão sistemática orientado a documentos nacionais e globais. Foram utilizados bancos de dados como Scopus, Science Direct, Web of Science, Scielo e análise documental. Os resultados mostram que o engajamento está diretamente relacionado à qualidade do ensino, à aprendizagem ativa e ao envolvimento dos estudantes em sua instrução educacional. Com relação ao trabalho, o engajamento proporciona auto-estima, felicidade e imersão no desenvolvimento do trabalho. Conclui-se que o engajamento proporciona aos envolvidos mecanismos para lidar com as adversidades encontradas em seu local de trabalho, fazendo com que os objetivos propostos pelos mesmos, apontando a importância que as instituições e empresas devem dar atenção a esta construção a fim de evitar sua deterioração.]]></p></abstract>
