Este estudio fue de tipo básico, con un diseño no experimental transversal, de nivel descriptivo correlacional, la población del estudio estuvo constituida por 194 estudiantes, con una muestra probabilística estratificada con aplicación de fórmula estadística con un total de 129 estudiantes, se empleó la técnica de la encuesta y la observación, se utilizaron como instrumentos se el cuestionario sobre redes sociales empleando la escala de Likert con una confiabilidad alta; y el registro de actas de evaluación de la asignatura de comunicación. Para la validación se aplicó el coeficiente de correlación de Spearman, con un valor de rs = 0,513, la cual muestra una correlación moderada positiva, con un p_valor = 0,000 &lt; 0,05. Concluyendo que existe relación significativa entre las redes sociales con el rendimiento académico en el área de comunicación en los estudiantes de 4to y 5to año de secundaria.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The general objective of this research is to determine the relationship between social networks and academic performance in the area of communication in 4th and 5th year high school students. This study was of a basic type, with a non-experimental cross-sectional design, of a correlational descriptive level, the study population consisted of 194 students, with a stratified probabilistic sample with application of a statistical formula with a total of 129 students, the technique was used From the survey and observation, the questionnaire on social networks was used as instruments using the Likert scale with high reliability; and the record of evaluation records of the communication subject. For validation, the Spearman correlation coefficient was applied, with a value of rs = 0.513, which shows a moderate positive correlation, with a p_value = 0.000 &lt;0.05. Concluding that there is a significant relationship between social networks and academic performance in the area of communication in 4th and 5th year high school students.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo O objetivo geral desta pesquisa é verificar a relação entre as redes sociais e o desempenho acadêmico na área da comunicação em alunos do 4º e 5º anos do ensino médio. Este estudo foi do tipo básico, com delineamento transversal não experimental, de nível descritivo correlacional, a população do estudo foi composta por 194 alunos, com amostra probabilística estratificada com aplicação de fórmula estatística com um total de 129 alunos, a técnica utilizada A partir do levantamento e observação, o questionário nas redes sociais foi utilizado como instrumento utilizando a escala Likert com alta confiabilidade; e o registro das fichas de avaliação do sujeito da comunicação. Para validação, foi aplicado o coeficiente de correlação de Spearman, com valor de rs = 0,513, que mostra correlação positiva moderada, com valor de p = 0,000 &lt;0,05.
