De las 33 aves analizadas en el municipio de Guadalajara, 4 dieron positivo a Mycobacterium sp., dando un 0.12 % de positivismo en este municipio, mientras que, en Tesistán, de 21 aves analizadas solo un ejemplar dio positivo a Mycobacterium sp., dando un 0.4 % de positivismo. En el municipio de Tonalá de 22 aves analizadas se encontró un ejemplar positivo, dando 0.45 % de aves positivas a Mycobacterium sp. De las 76 aves analizadas el 0.7 % dio positivo a Mycobacterium sp. Especies como Eupsittula canicularis, Amazona autumnalis, Ara militaris, Alopochen aegyptica y Pavo cristatus dieron positivo a Mycobacterium sp. Este trabajo contribuye a documentar los casos de Mycobacterium sp., en aves silvestres cautivas para tomar medidas que garanticen la salud de las aves silvestres.]]></p></abstract>

<body><![CDATA[<p align="justify"><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Muchas especies de aves   han sido causa de enfermedad por <i>Mycobacterium avium</i><u><sup>1</sup></u>, seg&uacute;n Bernardelli et al.<u><sup>2</sup></u><i> M. avium,</i> es com&uacute;n donde existe   un gran n&uacute;mero de aves, como las instituciones zool&oacute;gicas, ya que la presencia   de un ave infectada en cautiverio como el exhibidor de un zool&oacute;gico puede   incrementar el n&uacute;mero de micobacterias en ese ambiente<u><sup>3</sup></u>, seg&uacute;n Chiodini et al.<u><sup>4</sup></u>, la incidencia es alta en aves criadas   intensivamente y puede ser detectada com&uacute;nmente en heces de animales infectados<u><sup>5</sup></u>, siendo desconocida   y variable la fuente de infecci&oacute;n como los restos de las aves, que depende de   las especies, y si las aves est&aacute;n en cautiverio o libres<u><sup>6</sup></u>, en necropsias de aves oscila 0.5 % a   14 %<u><sup>7-9</sup></u>, incluyendo loros<u><sup>10</sup></u>, para confirmar la presencia de <i>M.     avium</i><u><sup>11</sup></u>, la tinci&oacute;n Ziehl-Neelsen   (ZN) permite la observaci&oacute;n bacilos alcohol-acido resistentes (BAAR), seg&uacute;n   VanDerHeyden<u><sup>9</sup></u>, las   infecciones micobacterianas detectadas en necropsia de aves de compa&ntilde;&iacute;a, <i>M.     avium </i>es considerado el pat&oacute;geno m&aacute;s importante causante de tuberculosis en   aves dom&eacute;sticas<u><sup>12</sup></u>, el   diagnostico de <i>M. avium</i> est&aacute; basado en la demostraci&oacute;n de los BAAR   mediante microscopia<u><sup>13</sup></u>, al   ser <i>M. avium </i>de pared celular gruesa, rica en &aacute;cidos micolicos, micosidos,   glicol&iacute;pidos y sulfol&iacute;pidos, hace hidrof&oacute;bicas e impermeables a tinciones   acuosas sin calor, por lo que en la tinci&oacute;n ZN se debe aplicar calor<u><sup>14</sup></u>. Una de las potenciales fuentes de   contaminaci&oacute;n de<i> M. avium </i>es la materia fecal<u><sup>15</sup></u>.<i> <a name="_Hlk70774556">M. avium</a></i> es una BAAR Gram positiva<u><sup>16</sup></u>, por ser la tinci&oacute;n ZN una t&eacute;cnica   r&aacute;pida, f&aacute;cil y de bajo costo<u><sup>17</sup></u>,   nos permite diferenciar las bacterias en dos grupos: las que resisten la   decoloraci&oacute;n con alcohol-acido y las que no lo son<u><sup>18</sup></u>, para Selvakumar et al.<u><sup>19</sup></u>, la sensibilidad de esta tinci&oacute;n para   identificar BAAR es de 74 % y una especificidad del 98 %. En humanos <i>M.     avium </i>es capaz de producir primeramente una linfoadenitis, enfermedad   pulmonar y la diseminaci&oacute;n de la infecci&oacute;n particularmente en individuos   inmunosuprimidos o bajo terapia de trasplantes<u><sup>20</sup></u>.   Seg&uacute;n Aranaz et al.<u><sup>21</sup></u>, el   estr&eacute;s que viven las aves en cautiverio desencadena la incidencia de <i>M.     avium, </i>tambi&eacute;n es considerada por Kriz et al.<u><sup>22</sup></u> como un riesgo potencial zoon&oacute;tico   por el contacto con animales infectados.</font></p>     <p align="justify"><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Con datos insuficientes   sobre el potencial pat&oacute;geno de <i>Mycobacterium </i>sp., en animales en   cautiverio y dado que la informaci&oacute;n con respecto a la infecci&oacute;n <i>Mycobacterium </i>sp., en las aves est&aacute; relativamente limitada e incompleta, debido a   una falta de informaci&oacute;n sobre la incubaci&oacute;n aparentemente larga, una prueba   inadecuada de identificaci&oacute;n y la dificultad de descubrir las aves infectadas<sup>23 </sup>se pretende que este estudio sea enfocado   en aportar informaci&oacute;n acerca de la presencia de <i>Mycobacterium </i>sp en   aves silvestres bajo condiciones de cautiverio en el estado de Jalisco y el uso   de herramientas para su diagn&oacute;stico como un m&eacute;todo eficiente y econ&oacute;mico para   el diagn&oacute;stico de esta enfermedad de tipo zoon&oacute;tico<u><sup>24</sup></u>.</font></p>     <p align="justify">&nbsp;</p>     <p align="justify"><font size="3" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><b>Materiales y m&eacute;todos</b></font></p>     <p align="justify"><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><i>Dise&ntilde;o de   Estudio. </i>De   junio a diciembre del a&ntilde;o 2019 se realiz&oacute; un estudio de tipo experimental<u><sup>25</sup></u>, bas&aacute;ndose en las muestras de heces   de las aves cautivas de los criaderos pertenecientes a particulares, que se   dedican a la reproducci&oacute;n, mantenimiento y comercializaci&oacute;n de aves, cuentan   con los permisos de SEMARNAT (Secretaria del Medio Ambiente y Recursos   Naturales) para su funcionamiento.</font></p>     <p align="justify"><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><i>Zona de estudio</i>. El estudio se llev&oacute; a   cabo en el estado de Jalisco, abarcando los municipios de Guadalajara, Tesist&aacute;n   y Tonal&aacute;, ubicados en el centro del pa&iacute;s y localizados dentro del &aacute;rea   metropolitana de Guadalajara.</font></p>     <p align="justify"><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><i>Recolecci&oacute;n y traslado de muestras. </i>33 aves   de Guadalajara, 21 de Tesist&aacute;n y 22 de Tonal&aacute; se evalu&oacute; sus excretas. La   presencia de micobacterias en las heces<u><sup>26</sup></u>,   por tal motivo las muestras de excremento se tomaron del suelo, que previamente   se limpi&oacute; y desinfecto, se prefiri&oacute; hacer las recolecciones por las ma&ntilde;anas   despu&eacute;s de suministrar el alimento, se esper&oacute; a que las aves defecaran y con un   hisopo est&eacute;ril se guard&oacute; en un tubo de ensayo,   para su traslado al laboratorio, sigui&eacute;ndose las recomendaciones de   Bioseguridad Jorge et al.<u><sup>27</sup></u>,   posteriormente se guardaron en hieleras t&eacute;rmicas con gel refrigerante en su   interior y mantenidas a una temperatura de 4&deg; C hasta ser procesadas, por ser   esta t&eacute;cnica de f&aacute;cil realizaci&oacute;n se prefiri&oacute; realizar cada prueba en cada   criadero, esto es, se llev&oacute; el equipo de tinci&oacute;n y el microscopio a cada lugar   para de esta manera aminorar los tiempos de traslado de las muestras, despu&eacute;s   de ser colectadas, se procesaron dentro de los 20 min posteriores.</font></p>     <p align="justify"><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><i>Identificaci&oacute;n de Bacilos   Alcohol-Acido Resistentes (BAAR). </i>Se realizaron frotis de las heces que previamente se   recolectaron y se colorearon con &eacute;l con la tinci&oacute;n se&ntilde;alada, la cual est&aacute;   conformada por un conjunto de reactivos y la reactivo ZN<u><sup>28</sup></u><sup>,<u>29</u></sup>,   se observ&oacute; al microscopio con aumento de 100X en aceite de inmersi&oacute;n, siguiendo   la t&eacute;cnica recomendada<u><sup>30</sup></u><sup>,<u>31</u></sup>. La descripci&oacute;n de los bacilos se   sigui&oacute; seg&uacute;n Bartos et al.<u><sup>32</sup></u>,   siguiendo las recomendaciones de la OMS<u><sup>33</sup></u>.</font></p>     <p align="justify">&nbsp;</p>     <p align="justify"><font size="3" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><b>Resultados</b></font></p>     ]]></body>

La infecci&oacute;n de <i>Mycobacterium </i>sp.,   ha sido reportado en loros<u><sup>35</sup></u>,   rapaces<u><sup>36</sup></u>, palomas y patos<u><sup>37</sup></u><sup>.</sup></font></p>     <p align="justify"><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Para evitar   que los animales silvestres en cautiverio se conviertan en focos de infecci&oacute;n   para los humanos y otras especies, es necesario realizar pruebas rutinarias de   diagn&oacute;stico, complementando con medidas de manejo para detectar y eliminar a   los animales enfermos, evitando de esta forma la diseminaci&oacute;n de la enfermedad<u><sup>38</sup></u>.</font></p>     <p align="justify"><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">En especies acu&aacute;ticas   Cromie et al.<u><sup>39</sup></u><i>,</i> observaron una reducci&oacute;n de 70 % en la mortalidad. En el municipio de   Guadalajara el 0.12 % de las muestras de heces fue positivo a <i>Mycobacterium </i>sp.<i>, </i>mientras que, en el municipio de Guadalajara de 33 aves muestreadas, 4   dieron positivo a <i>Mycobacterium </i>sp., y en el munici-pio de Tesist&aacute;n de   las 21 aves analizadas solo un ejemplar de <i>A. aegyptiacus </i>dio positivo a <i>Mycobacterium </i>sp.<i>, </i>dando un 0.4 % de positivismo. En el municipio   de Tonal&aacute; de 22 aves analizadas se encontr&oacute; un 0.45 % de aves positivas a <i>Mycobacterium </i>sp., siendo una de ellas, <i>S. camelus</i> misma que ha sido reportada en   esta especie por Garc&iacute;a et al.<u><sup>40</sup></u>.</font></p>     <p align="justify"><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Especies como <i>E.   canicularis</i>,<i> A. autumnalis, A. militaris, A. aegyptica y P. cristatus</i> dieron positivo a <i>Mycobacterium </i>sp.<i>, </i>coincidiendo con lo   reportado por Fowler<u><sup>41</sup></u>.</font></p>     <p align="justify"><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Se reporta un 0.7 % de   positivismo a <i>Mycobacterium </i>sp de las 76 aves analizadas.</font></p>     <p align="justify"><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Finalmente, las   micobacterias han habitado en nuestro entorno y m&aacute;s a&uacute;n en los animales en   cautiverio, al parecer con los datos aportados en el presente trabajo de   investigaci&oacute;n parece que el solo hecho de un diagn&oacute;stico r&aacute;pido, ser&iacute;a una   primera iniciativa que nos permita dar pie para levantar datos de su   incidencia.</font></p>     ]]></body>
