</abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en">
Abstract This article shares reflections on coping with social suicide: reflections from a psychological perspective, risk and protective factors are considered, as well as individual and community repercussions, along with effective intervention and prevention strategies. Risk factors, such as social isolation, marginalization, and lack of emotional support, are closely linked to increased risk of suicidal behavior. Additionally, the psychological implications for both the individuals directly affected and the community at large are examined, underscoring the importance of understanding and addressing the complex emotional and cognitive reactions associated with social suicide. This analysis is based on several relevant psychological theories, such as complicated grief theory and post-traumatic stress theory, which provide a conceptual framework for understanding the multifaceted nature of social suicide. Effective psychological strategies are also highlighted, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy and community prevention programs, which play a fundamental role in reducing the risk of suicide and promoting emotional resilience in vulnerable individuals and communities. In addition to addressing the theoretical and practical aspects, this article highlights the importance of considering the ethical implications associated with psychological intervention in cases of social suicide, emphasizing the need to balance confidentiality with the responsibility to protect the life and well-being of those at risk. In conclusion, specific recommendations are proposed for future research and action at the individual and community levels, with the aim of fostering a deeper understanding and a more effective response to the challenge of social suicide in contemporary society.
</abstract>
