Se ha demostrado una asociación entre un tiempo elevado en conducta sedentaria y la obesidad. Por lo tanto, todas las intervenciones destinadas a reducir el tiempo en conducta sedentaria podrían eventualmente mejorar la salud cardiometabólica de personas con sobrepeso u obesidad. Es así que el objetivo de este estudio fue evidenciar los efectos de los quiebres en la conducta sedentaria, con episodios cortos de actividad física, sobre los parámetros de control glucémico en personas con sobrepeso y obesidad.  Material y Método: Se realizó una búsqueda sistemática de ensayos clínicos aleatorizados, ensayos clínicos aleatorizados cruzados y estudios piloto. Para ello, se consideraron las siguientes bases de datos: PubMed, Cochrane, EBSCO, WoS, ScienceDirect y Medline.  Resultados: Se identificaron 94 estudios sobre el tema, los cuales se analizaron con la plataforma COVIDENCE. Para el estudio final se seleccionaron 10 artículos, que suman un total de 185 pacientes. Los resultados muestran que los quiebres en la conducta sedentaria en personas con sobrepeso u obesidad, aumentan la sensibilidad insulínica, disminuye el área incremental bajo la curva de glucosa, el área incremental bajo la curva de insulina y las glicemias de ayuno y postprandial.  Conclusión: Las intervenciones agudas de hasta 5 días en la conducta sedentaria, con actividad física de intensidad leve a moderada, inducen mejoras sobre indicadores de control glucémico en personas con sobrepeso u obesidad.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT  Introduction: The incidence of overweight and obesity worldwide has increased three times in the last 40 years. It has been determined that the affected population has lower levels of physical activity compared to the healthy population, as well as an association between a high time in sedentary behavior and obesity. Therefore, all interventions aimed at reducing time in sedentary behavior could eventually improve the cardiometabolic health of people who are overweight or obese.Thus, the objective of this study was to demonstrate the effects of breaks in sedentary behavior, with short episodes of physical activity, on glycemic control parameters in overweight and obese people.  Material and Method: A systematic search for randomized clinical trials, crossover randomized clinical trials, and pilot studies was performed. For this, the following databases were considered: PubMed, Cochrane, EBSCO, WoS, ScienceDirect and Medline.  Results: 94 studies on the subject were identified, which were analyzed with the COVIDENCE platform. For the final study, 10 articles were selected, totaling 185 patients. The results show that breaks in sedentary behavior in overweight or obese people increase insulin sensitivity, decrease the incremental area under the curve of glucose, incremental area under the curve of insulin, and fasting and postprandial glycemia.  Conclusion: Acute interventions of up to 5 days in SB, with PA of mild to moderate intensity, induce improvements in indicators of glycemic control in people with overweight or obesity]]></p></abstract>
