Por esta razón la búsqueda de nuevos principios activos derivados de especies vegetales, que no generen este tipo de dependencia está justificada; la especie estudio es Tagetes minuta L. (wacataya), seleccionada por ser empleada tradicionalmente en Bolivia por su acción ansiolítica, además mostró valores significativos en un screening de actividad en modelos biológicos in vivo y comparados a fármacos de referencia. Numerosos trabajos a nivel mundial fueron realizados empleando el aceite esencial de la misma; a la fecha ningun trabajo aborda la importancia de esta especie y la capacidad de ejercer acciones sobre el SNC. Los resultados de este estudio demostraron que Tagetes minuta, presenta actividad in vivo, con capacidad ansiolítica sedante.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[One of the most important factors to consider in prescribing drugs that act on the CNS, is the cause dependence, even more so those with anxiolytic-sedative. For this reason the search for new active ingredients derived from plants, which do not generate this kind of dependence is justified, the study species Tagetes minuta L. (wacataya), selected because they are traditionally used in Bolivia for their anxiolytic action, also showed significant values in a screening of biological activity in in vivo models and compared to reference drugs. Numerous studies worldwide were performed using the essential oil of the same, to date no work addresses the importance of this species and the capacity to perform actions on the CNS. The results of this study showed that Tagetes minuta, has activity in vivo, capable of sedative anxiolytic.]]></p></abstract>

The results of this study showed that Tagetes minuta, has activity in vivo, capable of sedative anxiolytic.</i></font></p>     <p align="justify"><font face="Verdana" size="2"><b><i>Key words: </i></b><i>ansiolytic, sedative.</i></font></p> <hr noshade>     <p align="justify">&nbsp;</p>     <p align="justify">&nbsp;</p>     <p align="justify"><font face="Verdana" size="3"><b>INTRODUCCIÓN</b></font></p>     <p align="justify"><font face="Verdana" size="2">La búsqueda de nuevas sustancias y la innovación de nuevos medicamentos cuya actividad sea prevalentemente sobre el sistema nervioso central (SNC) suman cada día más debido a uno de los factores más comunes, &quot;los efectos adversos, colaterales y la dependencia que causan el uso de fármacos de origen sintético&quot;; de ahí la necesidad e importancia de buscar principios activos presentes en especies vegetales, los cuales no posean desventajas ni conduzcan a una dependencia psíquica<sup>1,14,15,27</sup>. Esto basándose en la declaración de Alma Ata 1978 y tras el enunciado de la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) en Tokio el año 2000 quienes hacen referencia a respaldar el empleo de especies vegetales como fuente de nuevos fármacos<sup>9,24,26,31</sup>.</font></p>     <p align="justify"><font face="Verdana" size="2">Desde esa perspectiva abordamos el estudio de la especie vegetal Tagetes minuta L., empleada tradicionalmente en Bolivia por su acción antiflatulenta, analgésica estomacal, antipirética y ansiolítica.<sup>10,28,29</sup> Estudios sobre esta especie atribuyen que la actividad anti fúngica, antibacteriana y antimalárica entre otras, podría deberse a la presencia de distintos componentes en el aceite esencial de las hojas<sup>11,12,13,16,17</sup>, como ser el quercetagetin-7-arabinosil-galactosido, tiofenos como el 5-(but-3-ene-1-inil)-2,2'-bitiofeno; 5-(but-3-eno-1-inil)-5'- metil-2,2'-bitiofeno; 2,2',5',2&quot;-tertiofenoy5-metil-1-2,2',5',2&quot;-tertiofeno<sup>3,4,6,8,18,19,25,30,31,32</sup>. Se considera a este trabajo uno de los primeros que aborda la actividad ansiolítica sedante basada en las experiencias étnicas de Bolivia, otorgando un gran valor a lo que es la validación de especies vegetales con actividad sobre el SNC.<sup>7,20,21,22,23,33</sup></font></p>     <p align="justify">&nbsp;</p>     <p align="justify"><font face="Verdana" size="3"><b>MATERIAL Y MÉTODOS</b></font></p>     <p align="justify"><font face="Verdana" size="2">Material vegetal. Hojas de la especie vegetal, recolectadas en la Región de Río Abajo del Departamento de La Paz-Bolivia, caracterizada por el Herbario Nacional de Bolivia y depositado en el Instituto de Investigaciones Fármaco-Bioquímicas (IIFB) Facultad de Ciencias</font> <font face="Verdana" size="2">Farmacéuticas y Bioquímicas (FCFB); el extracto acuoso se obtuvo siguiendo recomendaciones del CYTED (Programa Iberoamericano de Ciencia y Tecnología para el Desarrollo), realizando una variante en la concentración del extracto, mediante la preparación de una infusión al 5 % (p/v), posterior liofilización y cálculo del rendimiento para la administración de una dosis experimental. Para la evaluación farmacológica se empleo modelos in vivo, utilizando ratones machos Balb-C de peso 28g &plusmn;2g, con 4 grupos de 6 animales, 1(Diazepan 0,5mg/kg i.p.), 2(Apomorfina 16mg/ kg i.p.), 3(Haloperidol 1mg/kg i.p.), 4(Extracto equivalente a 3g de planta seca/kg V.O.) y 5(Control H2O destilada V.O.). Los ensayos fueron: para sedación suspensión de cola, campo abierto y catatonia; para depresión: escondido de esferas, ensayo de comportamiento estereotipado y toque agresivo.</font></p>     ]]></body>
<body><![CDATA[<p align="justify"><font face="Verdana" size="2">Suspensión de cola &quot;tail suspensión test&quot;, para evaluar posibles acciones antidepresivas, en ratones preparados por 1 h, se suspenden a los animales por la cola por un periodo de 6 min., registrando el tiempo total de inmovilidad para cada animal, además de la latencia para la aparición de tal comportamiento, a partir del segundo min.<sup>5</sup> Campo abierto &quot;open-field&quot;, empleado para evaluar la actividad exploratoria, movimentación espontanea, en la periferia actividad exploratoria y en el centro actividad ansiolítica o sedativa, el numero de comportamientos de auto limpieza (grooming), de levantar (rearing) así como el tiempo en el que permanece parado (inmovilidad= sedación o miedo), y su defecación como índice de emocionalidad, el tiempo registrado es de 5 min.<sup>5</sup> Escondido de esferas &quot;marble burying test&quot;, empleado para determinar acción ansiolítica cada uno de los animales es sometido del grupo son sometidos a un cepo acrílico con aserrín y 25 bolitas de vidrio dispersados, transcurridos 10 min se registra el numero de bolitas escondidas que es directamente proporcionalmente a la actividad ansiolítica de drogas.<sup>5</sup></font></p>     <p align="justify"><font face="Verdana" size="2">Ensayo de subida &quot;climbing behavior&quot; comportamiento estereotipado, ensayo empleado para determinar el efecto antipsicótico. Los animales 1 hora después de los pretratamientos, son colocados en jaulas de alambre para observar del &quot;climbing behavior&quot; de acuerdo con la escala siguiente 0= cuatro patas en piso, 1= patas delanteras en pared lateral de la jaula, 2= cuatro patas en la pared lateral de la jaula intermitente, 3= cuatro patas en la pared lateral de la jaula o en el techo. La observación es por un tiempo de 30 min. a intervalo de 5 min. la presentación de este comportamiento está estrechamente relacionado con una activación de los sistemas dopaminérgicos.<sup>5</sup></font></p>     <p align="justify"><font face="Verdana" size="2">Toque agresivo, mediante esta evaluación, se evalúa la actividad sedante de una sustancia. Por último el ensayo de Catatonia, empleado para evaluar la actividad ansiolítica.</font></p>     <p align="justify">&nbsp;</p>     <p align="justify"><font face="Verdana" size="3"><b>RESULTADOS</b></font></p>     <p align="justify"><font face="Verdana" size="2">El rendimiento del extracto acuoso fue 36.8 %.</font></p>     <p align="justify"><font face="Verdana" size="2">Los resultados de actividad fueron: para Catatonia, positivo grupos 1, 3 y 4,</font> <font face="Verdana" size="2">negativos 2 y 5. Escondido de esferas, grupos 1 y 3 28.57%, 4 12.28%, 2 100% y control 60%. Suspensión de cola, grupos 1 100%, 2 90.9%, 3 36.4%, 4 81.8% y 5 54.5%. Campo abierto, grupos 1 20%, 2 31%, 3 100%, 4 36% y 5 65%. Estereotipia, grupos 1 15%, 2 100%, 3 17%, 4 16.6% y 5 68.3%. Por último Toque agresivo, grupos 1, 3 y 4 valor 1, grupo 2 valor 3 y grupo 5 valor 2.</font></p>     <p align="justify">&nbsp;</p>     <p align="justify"><font face="Verdana" size="3"><b>CONCLUSIÓN</b></font></p>     <p align="justify"><font face="Verdana" size="2">Concluida la parte experimental, se observo datos significativos, por lo que se concluye que la especie Tagetes minuta, presenta actividad sobre el Sistema Nervioso Central. Con un perfil de acción, similar al de los ansiolíticos sedantes.</font></p>     ]]></body>
