La clasificación no jerárquica refleja principalmente variaciones de elevación y humedad, y en menor medida factores biogeográficos. La comparación con otros estudios se dificulta por discrepancias metodológicas e indica la necesidad de estudios adicionales.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract On the basis of 189 phytosociological relevés which included six indicator groups (Acanthaceae, Araceae, Bromeliaceae, Cactaceae, Palmae, Pteridophyta) from 13 localities of dry forests in inter-Andean valleys of Bolivia and one lowland locality (Santa Cruz) we recognized 11 zonal vegetation types and six subtypes. The non-hierachical clasificación primarily reflects variations in elevation and humidity, and to a lesser degree, biogeographical differences. Comparison with other studies is difficult due to variations in methodology and indícate the need for additional studies.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="de"><p><![CDATA[Zusammenfassung Anhand von 189 pflanzensoziologischen Vegetationsaufnahmen unter Berücksichtigung von sechs Indikatorgruppen (Acanthaceae, Araceae, Bromeliaceae, Cactaceae, Palmae, Pteridophyta) von 13 Lokalitäten andiner Trockenwälder in Bolivien sowie einer Tieflandslokalität (Santa Cruz) wurden 11 zonale Vegetationstypen mit sechs Untertypen abgegrenzt. Die nicht-hierarchische Klassifikation spiegelt v.a. Unterschiede in Höhenlage und Feuchte wider, und nur an zweiter Stelle biogeographische Faktoren. Der Vergleich mit anderen Klassifikationssystemen fällt wegen methodischer Differenzen schwer und zeigt die Notwendigkeit weitergehender Untersuchungen auf.]]></p></abstract>
