Por otro lado, la dislipidemia no solo es un factor de riesgo de enfermedad cardiovascular (ECV) y enfermedad del hígado graso no alcohólico (NAFLD), sino que también puede provocar resistencia a la insulina y estrés oxidativo. El objetivo de esta revisión fue determinar las diferentes alteraciones tiroides en relación con el perfil lipídico en una población joven adulta. Para ello, se realizó una revisión de la información disponible en bases de datos como Scopus, Pubmed, Elsevier, entre otros, de acuerdo con las recomendaciones de la declaración PRISMA. Se incluyeron artículos publicados en español e inglés que reportaron alteraciones tiroideas relacionadas con factores lipídicos en jóvenes adultos. En la revisión bibliográfica se encontró que los niveles séricos de colesterol total (CT), triglicéridos totales (TG) y colesterol de muy baja densidad (VLDL) estaban significativamente elevados y se relacionó de manera proporcional con la concentración sérica de la hormona estimulante de tiroides (TSH) e inversamente proporcional con la lipoproteína de alta densidad (HDL-C). El análisis de la literatura revisada confirma la alta prevalencia de la disfunción tiroidea (DT) a nivel mundial, con una frecuencia significativa de hipotiroidismo subclínico y eutiroidismo en diversas poblaciones. La importancia del diagnóstico y tratamiento oportuno de estas alteraciones radica en su estrecha relación con enfermedades cardiovasculares, dislipidemias y otros factores de riesgo metabólico.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT It is known that thyroid hormones regulate lipid metabolism and that thyroid disorders are common in dyslipidemic patients. On the other hand, dyslipidemia is not only a risk factor for cardiovascular disease (CVD) and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), but can also lead to insulin resistance and oxidative stress. The aim of this review was to determine the different thyroid alterations in relation to the lipid profile in a young adult population. For this purpose, a review was made of the information available in databases such as Scopus, Pubmed, Elsevier, among others, in accordance with the recommendations of the PRISMA statement. Articles published in Spanish and English that reported thyroid alterations related to lipid factors in young adults were included. The literature review found that serum levels of total cholesterol (TC), total triglycerides (TG) and very low density cholesterol (VLDL) were significantly elevated and were proportionally related to serum thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) concentration and inversely related to high density lipoprotein (HDL-C). The analysis of the literature reviewed confirms the high prevalence of thyroid dysfunction (TD) worldwide, with a significant frequency of subclinical hypothyroidism and euthyroidism in various populations. The importance of timely diagnosis and treatment of these disorders lies in their close relationship with cardiovascular diseases, dyslipidemias and other metabolic risk factors.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[RESUMO Sabe-se que as hormonas da tiroide regulam o metabolismo dos lípidos e que as perturbações da tiroide são comuns em doentes dislipidémicos. Além disso, a dislipidemia não é apenas um fator de risco para as doenças cardiovasculares (DCV) e para a doença hepática gorda não alcoólica (DHGNA), mas também pode levar à resistência à insulina e ao stress oxidativo. O objetivo desta revisão foi determinar os diferentes distúrbios da tiroide em relação ao perfil lipídico numa população de adultos jovens. Para tal, foi efectuada uma revisão da informação disponível em bases de dados como Scopus, Pubmed, Elsevier, entre outras, de acordo com as recomendações da declaração PRISMA. Foram incluídos artigos publicados em espanhol e inglês que relatavam distúrbios da tiroide relacionados com factores lipídicos em adultos jovens. A revisão da literatura revelou que os níveis séricos de colesterol total (CT), triglicéridos totais (TG) e colesterol de muito baixa densidade (VLDL) estavam significativamente elevados e proporcionalmente relacionados com a concentração sérica da hormona estimulante da tiroide (TSH) e inversamente relacionados com a lipoproteína de alta densidade (HDL-C). A análise da literatura revista confirma a elevada prevalência da disfunção tiroideia (DT) a nível mundial, com uma frequência significativa de hipotiroidismo subclínico e eutiroidismo em várias populações.
