Obviamente una alteración circadiana puede ser el origen de una amplia gama de enfermedades. La invención de la luz artificial provocó muchos beneficios a nuestra sociedad moderna, sin embargo, los ciclos circadianos ya no solo fueron afectados por la luz natural del día y la oscuridad de la noche, sino también por la luz artificial, la cual puede provocar disturbios en estos. El propósito de esta revisión es dar una visión general de la interrelación entre la luz-ritmos circadianos-fisiología. No se busca profundizar en ninguno de estos aspectos, pues la información es bastante amplia y no sería práctico ponerla en una publicación de este tipo. Se seleccionó la información relacionada con el tema desde la más clásica hasta la más actual.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Circadian rhythms modulate practically all physiological processes in mammals and It being synchronized with their circadian rhythms guarantee their health Obviously a circadian alteration can be the origin of a wide range of diseases. The invention of artificial light brought many benefits to our modern society, however circadian cycles were no longer only affected by natural day light and darkness at night, but also by artificial light, which can cause disturbances in these. The purpose of this review is to give an overview of the interrelationship between light-circadian rhythms- physiology. It does not seek to delve into any of these aspects, since the information is quite extensive and it would not be practical to put it into a publication of this type. Information related to the topic was selected from the most classic to the most current.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo Os ritmos circadianos modulam, praticamente, todos os processos fisiológicos nos mamíferos e estes, ao estarem sincronizados com os seus ritmos circadianos, garantem a sua saúde. Obviamente, uma alteração circadiana pode ser a origem de uma ampla gama de doenças. A invenção da luz artificial provocou muitos benefícios à nossa sociedade moderna, sem dúvida, os ciclos circadianos já não só foram afetados pela luz natural do dia e a escuridão da noite, senão também pela luz artificial, a qual pode provocar distúrbios nestes. O objetivo desta revisão é fornecer uma visão geral da inter-relação entre a luz-ritmos circadianos-fisiologia. Não buscamos nos aprofundar em nenhum destes aspectos, pois as informações são bastante amplas e não seria prático colocá-las em uma publicação deste tipo. Selecionou-se a informação relacionada ao tema, desde a mais clássica até a mais atual.]]></p></abstract>
