El presente estudio tiene como objetivo analizar el Nivel de Servicio en los flujos vehiculares de las intersecciones urbanas de la vía PE-1S mediante la microsimulación utilizando el software Synchro Trafficware, para el cual, se realizaron aforos vehiculares en la zona durante tres días, con una duración continua de 12 horas cada día. Posteriormente, se procesó y se llevó a cabo la microsimulación en un escenario actual y un escenario futuro de las intersecciones debido a los altos niveles de congestión vehicular que se generan. Los resultados obtenidos revelaron que, en el escenario actual, el nivel de servicio en las intersecciones se clasifica como C y F, con tiempos de demora de 31.4 y 267.5 segundos respectivamente. En el escenario futuro, los niveles de servicio se clasificaron como F y F, con tiempos de demora de 81.7 y 103.3 segundos respectivamente. En conclusión, el nivel de servicio determinado en la zona de estudio muestra un alto índice de congestión vehicular. Se prevé que en el futuro esta congestión sea incontrolable, lo que causará incomodidad para los usuarios. Por lo tanto, se recomienda como alternativas óptimas de mejora la implementación de incrementos de carril y direccionamiento exclusivo de giro en la zona, con lo cual se optimiza a niveles de servicio C y D.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The vehicular congestion, a result of the ever-increasing traffic in rapidly growing cities, has become a social issue exacerbated by ongoing road works and a lack of signage. The objective of this study is to analyze the Level of Service in vehicular flows at the urban intersections of the PE-1S road through microsimulation using the Synchro Trafficware software. Vehicle counts were conducted in the area for three consecutive days, with each day lasting 12 continuous hours. Subsequently, microsimulation was performed for both the current scenario and a future scenario, considering the high levels of vehicular congestion generated. The results obtained revealed that in the current scenario, the level of service at the intersections is classified as C and F, with delay times of 31.4 and 267.5 seconds, respectively. In the future scenario, the levels of service were classified as F and F, with delay times of 81.7 and 103.3 seconds, respectively. In conclusion, the determined level of service in the study area indicates a high index of vehicular congestion. It is anticipated that this congestion will become uncontrollable in the future, leading to discomfort for users. Therefore, it is recommended to implement lane expansions and exclusive turning directions in the area as optimal improvement alternatives, which optimize the service levels to C and D.]]></p></abstract>
