El objetivo de esta investigación fue determinar el efecto de fungicidas que afectan la mitosis y división celular (benzimidazoles y tiofanatos) utilizando diferentes dosis de 1, 10, 100, 1000 ppm. El experimento fue realizado en el laboratorio de Biología Molecular de la ESPAM MFL, Calceta-Manabí. Las variables evaluadas fueron porcentaje de inhibición (24, 48, 72, 96, 120, 144, 168, 192, 216 h), número de esclerocios y viabilidad de esclerocios; para la sensibilidad in vitro se utilizó un diseño experimental completamente al azar, con 16 tratamientos con 4 repeticiones; la comparación de medias fue realizada con la prueba de Tukey (p &lt; 0.05). Los fungicidas, carbendazim, benomyl, metil-tiofanato y tiabendazol en todas sus dosis no fueron efectivos en la inhibición del hongo bajo condiciones in vitro, así como en la viabilidad de los esclerocios, lo que indica la posibilidad de la existencia de resistencia por parte de este fitopatógeno a los fungicidas inhibidores de la formación de beta-tubulina.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Southern blight in bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) is a disease caused by the plant pathogen fungus Sclerotium rolfsii. The objective of this research was to determine the effect of fungicides that affect mitosis and cell division (benzimidazoles and thiophanates) using different doses of 1, 10, 100, 1000 ppm. The experiment was carried out in the Molecular Biology laboratory of ESPAM MFL, Calceta-Manabí. The variables evaluated were percentage of inhibition (24, 48, 72, 96, 120, 144, 168, 192, 216 h), number of sclerotia and viability of sclerotia; For in vitro sensitivity, a completely randomized experimental design was used, with 16 treatments with 4 repetitions; The comparison of means was performed with the Tukey test (p &lt; 0.05). The fungicides, carbendazim, benomyl, thiophanate-methyl and thiabendazole, in all their doses were not to be effective in controlling the fungus under in vitro conditions, as well as in the viability of sclerotia, which indicates the possibility of the existence of resistance on the part of this phytopathogen to the fungicide inhibitors of the formation of beta-tubulin.]]></p></abstract>
