ORDONEZ SAAVEDRA, Sonia y MENESES LA RIVA, Mónica Elisa. Management of communication skills and job satisfaction among nursing staff at a national hospital in Lima, Peru. Impulso [online]. 2025, vol.5, n.11, pp.554-565. Epub 02-Jul-2025. ISSN 2959-9040. https://doi.org/10.59659/impulso.v.5i11.162.
Communication skills management and job satisfaction are determining factors in the performance of healthcare personnel, as they influence the quality of interactions, organizational efficiency, and professional well-being. Within this framework, the study aimed to determine the relationship between communication skills management and job satisfaction among nursing staff at a national hospital in Lima, Peru. A quantitative approach with a descriptive design was applied, using standardized questionnaires in a sample of 123 nurses. The findings revealed that communication skills were concentrated at a medium level (82.1%-89.4%), with a low percentage at the high level, especially in empathy (8.1%). Job satisfaction showed a predominance of moderately satisfied (23.6%-69.9%), with weaknesses in working conditions (17.9% dissatisfied) and remuneration benefits (0.8% very satisfied). It is concluded that, although there is an acceptable basis, it is necessary to strengthen empathy, respect, and the work environment.
