MARTINEZ TERREROS, Solange Maithe y PENAFIEL MANCHEGO, Erick Vladimir. Emerging technologies in business project management: systematic review 2018-2025. Impulso [online]. 2025, vol.5, n.11, pp.496-513. Epub 02-Jul-2025. ISSN 2959-9040. https://doi.org/10.59659/impulso.v.5i11.158.
This study analyzes advances in emerging technologies applied to project management in service companies during the 2018-2025 period through a systematic review. The PRISMA protocol was followed using Scielo, Scopus, and Web of Science databases, applying specific inclusion criteria for studies on emerging technologies and project management. From 457 initial records, 26 articles were selected for bibliometric analysis using Bibliometrix software. Results identified three emerging thematic fields: agile methodologies based on artificial intelligence for data mining oriented to critical decisions, performance frameworks for innovative sustainable projects in complex and uncertain environments, and machine learning applied to risk management and resource allocation based on information. Culturonomic analysis revealed that the hottest topics are directed toward intelligent systems for decision-making, while basic topics recognize artificial intelligence and agile methods as foundations for performance metrics. It is concluded that emerging technologies are significantly transforming business project management, especially in process automation and resource optimization.
