In the face of growing urban insecurity in Latin America, municipal crime risk management is consolidating as a key strategy to strengthen citizen security. This study conducted a qualitative systematic review, following the PRISMA 2020 protocol, with the objective of identifying effective preventive strategies implemented by Latin American municipalities between 2021 and 2024. Twelve empirical studies selected from five databases (SciELO, Dialnet, Scopus, PLOS One and Google Scholar) were analyzed, applying specific inclusion criteria and methodological evaluation using the EPPHPP tool. The findings reveal five strategic components: built environment, social development, community coexistence, control and surveillance, and institutional capacity. Urban redesign, video surveillance, targeted social programs and neighborhood participation stand out as effective actions. Critical factors such as political will, inter-institutional coordination and sustained funding enhance their implementation. It is concluded that comprehensive and participatory interventions have greater impact in vulnerable contexts such as Tumbes (Peru). The main limitations were the scarcity of empirical studies and methodological heterogeneity.
