PANIAGUA CHACON, César; CANCHARI MEDINA, Maribel y VILLAFUERTE ALVAREZ, Carlos Alberto. Feasibility of implementing the circular economy in Cusco's wastewater treatment plant. Impulso [online]. 2025, vol.5, n.10, pp.396-413. Epub 03-Abr-2025. ISSN 2959-9040. https://doi.org/10.59659/impulso.v.5i10.124.
Implementing the circular economy in a Wastewater Treatment Plant allows the recovery and reuse of resources such as water and nutrients, transforming it from a cost center to one that generates economic and environmental value. For this reason, it was proposed to analyze its implementation in the San Jeronimo de Cusco Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), evaluating its economic, environmental and operational feasibility. The methodology was based on a qualitative approach of descriptive-correlational level and field design with interviews to 6 workers of the plant selected by a purposive sampling. The results showed that the success of the project lies in the development of strategies that optimize the reuse of resources, improve operational efficiency and reduce environmental impacts, therefore, it is proposed to optimize the technological infrastructure of the WWTP emphasizing the transformation and valorization of biosolids and biogas.
