Public investment has been investigated in different national and international scenarios and its importance in achieving economic growth and competitiveness of the country has always been expressed. Reason for which the objective was set to analyze the academic production in databases such as Scopus, WoS, and Scielo of Latin America from 2015 to 2024 regarding the importance of public investment in poverty reduction. To carry out the research, a descriptive systematic review was chosen, using 20 articles from different countries. The results show that the most researched topic is related to the above-mentioned factors related to public investment. Finally, it should be noted that one of the most outstanding characteristics is the relationship between public investment and its impact on poverty and economic growth and/or development.
