HANCCO-GOMEZ, Miriam Serezade et al. Impact of managerial skills and decision-making in public administration. Impulso [online]. 2024, vol.4, n.8, pp.115-130. Epub 20-Out-2024. ISSN 2959-9040. https://doi.org/10.59659/impulso.v.4i8.52.
Managerial skills possess specific characteristics that require leaders to have certain competencies to achieve effective management. This research aimed to determine the relationship and impact of managerial skills and their dimensions on decision-making in public administration, Peru. A non-experimental, descriptive-correlational design was used, with a sample of 97 employees to whom two questionnaires were applied. The results of the evaluation of managerial skills show that they are adequate in all the dimensions analyzed. In relation to decision-making, the performance was efficient, and a significant association between the two variables was evident. This correlation suggests that improving managerial skills can have a positive impact on the quality of decisions; however, areas for improvement were identified, especially in the development of interpersonal skills. In conclusion, strengthening managerial skills promotes better decisions and superior performance.
