Burnout syndrome is characterized by emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and low personal achievement, affecting the health and performance of workers. The objective of this research was to describe the state of research on burnout syndrome and its impact on the work performance of health personnel. The methodology used was a qualitative systematic review, 20 articles were selected between 2020 and 2024, using the PRISMA method. Mixed results are obtained, 55.0% of the studies report a high relationship between these variables; 35.0% found a moderate relationship, which suggests that, although it affects performance, there are other factors that also influence this dynamic and only 10.0% found no relationship. These results highlight the importance of addressing and preventing burnout in this sector, given its incidence and detrimental effect on the quality of services provided.
