AGUADO LINGAN, Aracelli Monica et al. Poverty and wage inequality among the over-18s. Tribunal [online]. 2025, vol.5, n.13, pp.890-900. Epub 02-Oct-2025. ISSN 2959-6513. https://doi.org/10.59659/revistatribunal.v5i13.309.
The objective was to analyse the link between poverty and wage inequality, although some sectors experienced an economic increase, there are still wage differences affecting access to education, health and other essential services, particularly for women. The study uses a quantitative method, a non-experimental structure and a degree of understanding. Surveys carried out among 169 inhabitants of the district examined factors such as financial income, access to basic services, wage differentials between men and the presence of discrimination in employment. It was also found that a large sector of the population does not have access to a fair wage that meets their basic needs, a situation which exacerbates poverty rates. In addition, it will be observed that both women and certain age groups are susceptible to job instability. The lack of opportunities and informal employment also promote inequality.
