The objective of this research was to analyze the perception of students at a Peruvian public university regarding their graduation profile in research competencies, with emphasis on three dimensions: cognitive, procedural and attitudinal. The study was developed under a quantitative approach, with descriptive scope. The sample consisted of 235 students from seven academic programs corresponding to four professional schools: Education, Communication Sciences, Archeology, and Law and Political Sciences. For data collection, the survey technique was used and a rating scale was used as an instrument. The results show a medium level of perception of the graduate profile in the three dimensions evaluated, which reveals the need to implement curricular adjustments aimed at strengthening research competence in the professional training of students at the Universidad Nacional Santiago Antúnez de Mayolo (UNASAM).
