Reading comprehension is a fundamental competence in the academic and personal development of students because it allows them to strengthen their knowledge. The objective of this article was to analyze the development of reading comprehension through pedagogical strategies, educational technology and teacher training in basic education. The study methodology was a systematic review of specialized articles published between 2021 and 2025. The results showed that the combination of active methodologies, innovative digital resources and continuous teacher training contributes significantly to improving reading comprehension. It was also recognized that the lack of training and technological integration in institutions are gaps that weaken reading activities, thus highlighting the need to adapt educational policies by strengthening and promoting a comprehensive approach to the development of reading comprehension.
