This research responds to the need to understand how management and effective communication are related in teachers at primary educational institutions. In this sense, a phenomenological approach was adopted, since it allows analyzing the daily experiences of pedagogical leaders within their organizational environments, considering the unique characteristics of each institution. The purpose was to analyze how the principals of primary schools in Chiclayo, Peru, perceive it. The study, qualitative in nature, focused on two main categories: management and effective communication. The methodology used was the interview, based on a guide of semi-structured questions, which was validated by a specialist before being applied to directors of primary institutions. To process and analyze the information obtained, an analysis matrix was created using the open coding technique. The results reveal that effective communication within a team that works collaboratively is essential for the proper functioning of the school. Furthermore, it is concluded that active listening by management leaders is crucial since it allows identifying both the weaknesses and the achievements of the educational organization.
