Women's football has experienced exponential growth, yet structural inequalities persist, limiting its full development. This study analyzes the factors influencing the professionalization of women's football in Lima, Peru, from the players' perspective. A survey was administered to 56 female footballers from different competitive levels to assess their perceptions of media influence, economic support, infrastructure, and social aspects. The results show a high appreciation for media visibility (85.7%) and the quality of facilities (85.8%), but a negative perception of governmental (14.3%) and private (21.4%) economic support. It is concluded that while progress has been made in visibility, the lack of economic investment and structural support policies represents the main obstacle to the professional consolidation of women's football in the region. Implications for sports policies and future research are discussed.
