Vocational training requires the development of didactic competencies and skills for good performance. In this framework, the purpose of the research was to determine the relationship between the didactic strategies and communicative competencies of the students of the Daniel Alcides Carrión National University - Peru, according to the level of knowledge and use respectively. The study was of a basic type, descriptive, explanatory level and correlational design, with the use of the scientific, observational and analytical method; in a sample of 20 students, representing 18.52% of the established population. Data and information collection was carried out through a 16-question questionnaire, which was processed with the support of statistical tools. From which a correlation of 0.970 was obtained, according to Spearman's Rho coefficient, which means a very good correlation. Consequently, teaching strategies are closely related to the development of the communicative skills of university students.
