Workplace sexual harassment constitutes a manifestation of gender-based violence that affects the dignity, well-being, and professional development of workers, particularly women. The objective of this study is to interpret how the application of preventive protection measures at the functional level works against acts of workplace sexual harassment among female public sector workers in Ica during 2023. The qualitative approach, interpretive paradigm, and phenomenological approach were used. The sample consisted of 10 people. An interview guide and an instrument with semi-structured questions were used to collect information. The results showed that sexual harassment in the work environments of state institutions has become normalized. It is necessary that preventive measures, policies, and guidelines be implemented in a timely manner. It is concluded that the application of preventive protection measures at the functional level would protect female public sector workers in Ica against acts of workplace sexual harassment, based on clear and well-defined objectives, facilitating the reporting process for the victim of harassment.
