Resumen

HURTADO VALENCIA, Saúl Manuel et al. Communitarianism and individualism according to Enrique Dussel: Analysis of the 14 Theses. Tribunal [online]. 2025, vol.5, n.11, pp.98-112.  Epub 01-Abr-2025. ISSN 2959-6513.  https://doi.org/http://doi.org/10.59659/revistatribunal.v5i11.144.

Enrique Dussel is an Argentine philosopher known for his criticism of neoliberal individualism and his defense of communitarianism. The objective is to analyze the different perspectives of communitarianism and individualism, exploring their historical origins, their characteristics and their implications in contemporary society. With a qualitative approach, theoretical-documentary, focused on a bibliographic review. The population consists of Dussel's theoretical production and contributions from authors such as Charles Taylor, Michael Sandel, Alasdair MacIntyre and Martha Nussbaum. The results show that recognizing the interdependence between the individual and the collective and promoting active participation and solidarity within communities are key steps to building more just, inclusive and sustainable societies. The conclusions on the analysis of Dussel's 14 Theses invite us to question the simplistic dichotomies between communitarianism and individualism, and to recognize the complexity of human relations in an interconnected world.

Palabras clave : Communitarianism; Ethics; Individualism; Justice; Liberalism.
