QUISPE MUNARES, Maria Luzmarina; RIMASCCA RODRIGUEZ, Ivonne Karin; INCA CAHUANA, José Santos e CRUZADO PENA, Alberto. Psychomotor development in early childhood education students: a systematic review. Tribunal [online]. 2025, vol.5, n.10, pp.689-707. Epub 01-Jan-2025. The objective of this systematic review is to examine the importance of psychomotor development in early childhood education. Effective methods and strategies, as well as influencing factors, are examined from studies over the past five years in data search engines such as SciELO, Scopus and Web of Science. The research focuses on psychomotor development at the initial level. It is concluded that promoting physical activity is essential for the comprehensive development of the child during childhood. Playful strategies that include body movement and physical activity, along with teaching materials, are essential, since low motor development or coordination problems affect thinking, emotional expression, interpersonal relationships, muscle development and academic performance. In addition, factors that influence motor development are highlighted, such as alcohol and tobacco consumption by the mother during pregnancy, type of delivery, breastfeeding and early feeding.
