This article presents a systematic review of the literature on the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in the teaching-learning of mathematics in basic education in Latin America. The objective is to evaluate how using AI tools can transform teaching processes and improve student learning in this area. The methodology includes the search and analysis of relevant studies published between 2020 and 2023, using exclusion and inclusion criteria that guarantee relevance and quality of the sources. The results indicate that the implementation of AI-based technologies, such as adaptive learning platforms and virtual tutors, demonstrated significant improvements in mathematical understanding and student motivation. The conclusions highlight that the integration of AI in basic education not only optimizes mathematics learning, but also contributes to personalize teaching, thus meeting the diverse needs of students in the region.
