Project-Based Learning is a highly effective educational methodology. This research aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of Project-Based Learning (PBL) in developing scientific inquiry competence in secondary school students at a public school in Trujillo, Peru. A descriptive quantitative approach was used. Experimental and quasi-experimental designs were employed. The target population of the study consisted of 150 students. The main results indicate that 83% of the students in the experimental group significantly improved in scientific inquiry compared to the control group. Inferential statistical tests, such as the Mann-Whitney U test, confirmed significant differences (p < 0.001), supporting the effectiveness of PBL. It is concluded that the study conducted allowed demonstrating the effectiveness of Project-Based Learning as an effective pedagogical strategy for developing advanced scientific competencies in secondary school students.
