The acquisition of research competencies (RC) in Mechanical Engineering and Energy students is essential for their academic and professional development in a constantly evolving field. This qualitative research, using a phenomenological-hermeneutic design, analyzes teachers' perspectives on the importance of these competencies through semi-structured interviews. The results indicate that effective pedagogical strategies combine theory and practice, aligning with labor market demands and the ethical principles of the profession. Key skills such as information collection, logical argument construction, and scientific writing are identified, strengthened by institutional support and the use of technological tools. Student motivation, along with active educational approaches and adequate infrastructure, are key factors for success in this process. It is concluded that the acquisition of RC is multifaceted and requires a holistic approach that integrates cognitive and practical aspects to ensure comprehensive training.
