Abstract

ARRIOLA CASTRO, Carmen Lourdes; JACOBI ROMERO, Dante Jesus; FLORES LEZAMA, Tomy Carlos  and  GONZALES AGAMA, Sara Hermelinda. Systematic review on Project-Based Learning in basic education students. Tribunal [online]. 2024, vol.4, n.8, pp.222-241.  Epub July 01, 2024. ISSN 2959-6513.  https://doi.org/10.59659/revistatribunal.v4i8.54.

The article aims to address the effectiveness of project-based learning (PBL) in basic education students. The methodology is based on a systematic review following the GRADE system and the PRISMA statement. The search is carried out in databases such as PubMed, EBSCO, Scielo, and Scopus, including studies that address PBL with measurable results and excluding those that do not meet adequate methodological standards. A total of 60 articles from the United States, China, Indonesia, Ecuador, and Turkey were studied, and seven were included. It is concluded that PBL is effective in solving problems, promoting critical thinking, motivating students, improving learning experiences, and academic performance. It also highlights that PBL fosters social interaction, the development of research skills, scientific learning, creativity, and communication skills in basic education students.

Keywords : Project-based learning; students; basic education; learning experiences; research; critical thinking.
