Abstract

The article describes teachers' perception of critical thinking in students at Bruning School in La Molina, Lima, Peru. The problem lies in the importance of promoting critical thinking skills from primary education. The study variables include teachers' opinions, reasoning, problem-solving, and decision-making. The objective is to describe teachers' perception of students' critical thinking. An exploratory qualitative methodology and phenomenological design are used with eleven teachers as the sample. An ethnographic interview guide is applied to gain a deeper and more detailed understanding of teachers' performance and competencies related to perception. Results show that teachers consider fostering critical thinking essential for facing everyday situations. In conclusion, the importance of critical thinking in the comprehensive education of students is highlighted.
