Access to water is a primary need, but gaps in access to quality sources persist. Objective. To evaluate the effect of the water chlorination strategy on quality of life. Materials and methods. The methodology used in this research is based on an analytical and deductive approach, using a non-experimental cross-sectional design. An applied research was carried out with a population of 300 drinking water users in the town of Macusani, selecting a simple random sample of 73 users. The reliability of the data collection instrument, a survey, was evaluated using Cronbach's Alpha coefficient, obtaining a value of 0.893, indicating high reliability. Results. The results obtained through the Chi Square test, with a significance level of 1%, demonstrate that the water chlorination strategy has direct effects on quality of life. Specifically, it is observed that the value x2Crítico > x2Tablas, which confirms that chlorination impacts both objective and subjective quality of life. Conclusion. It is confirmed that the water chlorination strategy has a direct impact on the quality of life of the inhabitants of Macusani. 75% of drinking water users in the Jorge Chávez, Túpac Amaru and Cenepa neighborhoods consider that water disinfection, implemented with the support of the Ministry of Housing, has been beneficial
