CASTANON-VALDIVIA, Vanessa Reyna et al. Spirituality and psychological well-being in nursing students: a pilot study in a Peruvian public university. Vive Rev. Salud [online]. 2024, vol.7, n.21, pp.706-719. Epub 27-Set-2024. ISSN 2664-3243. https://doi.org/10.33996/revistavive.v7i21.333.
The aim of the study was to determine the correlation between spirituality and psychological well-being among nursing students in Tacna-Peru. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on a sample of 113 young students. The Parsian and Dunning spirituality scales and the Riff psychological well-being scale were used. The statistical analyses employed included the tau b kendall. The results obtained revealed that the mean age of the sample was 20.36 years (±3.0), with a predominance of the female sex (91.2%). A high level of spirituality was exhibited by 53.1% of the nursing students, while 68.1% of the respondents presented a high level of psychological well-being. Conclusion: A significant association was found between three components of spirituality (self-awareness, importance of beliefs, spiritual needs) and the six components of psychological well-being (personal growth, positive relationships with others, life purpose, self-acceptance, future plans, and personal control) at a statistically significant level (p<0.01).
