Child and adolescent mental health are a public health priority, therefore, it is important to know the different problems as early as possible to avoid complications. Objective. To identify behavioral problems in patients aged 2 to 15 years hospitalized in the pediatric department of the Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso. Cuenca Ecuador 2021. Methods. a mixed study was conducted under observational and descriptive cross-sectional analysis. The sample consisted of 201 patients who met the inclusion criteria. A form on patient demographic characteristics and the Eyberg Inventory were used to collect the information applied to parents or guardians, prior to the signing of the informed consent. Data were tabulated in the program SPSS 25 version, the descriptive statistics were used to analyze the information, based on frequencies and percentages, presenting the results in charts. Results. 11.9% have behavioral alteration, 39.8% are at risk and 48.3% are normal. Of those who have behavioral alteration, 66.6% are adolescents between 10 and 15 years old, there is no difference in relation to sex; the majority (75%) are from urban areas; 50% are in upper school, about 30% are children of unemployed parents and according to the category assessed, 75% have anxiety, 20.84% aggression and 4.8% attention deficit. Conclusions. More a than half have behavioral problems. Anxiety occurs in three out of four patients.
