Introduction: Environmental attitude refers to the dispositions and feelings that an individual develops towards the environment, especially in solid waste management. This study seeks to determine the effect of the 3R strategy (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) on the environmental attitude of high school students in Huancavelica, Peru, during 2024. Materials and Methods: The study has a quantitative approach, descriptive type. A quasi-experimental design was used with an experimental group and a control group. The population consisted of 54 students. The instrument used to collect data in the present study is a questionnaire that assesses people's attitudes towards solid waste management. Results: The results showed that the experimental group perceived significant improvements in the cognitive, affective and conative dimensions after the intervention, with a notable increase in their knowledge and pro-environmental behaviors. In contrast, the control group did not present relevant changes. Discussion: The findings reveal that the implementation of active and participatory methods in environmental education can be key to achieving changes in students' attitudes. In addition, the permanence of these changes may depend on contextual factors and the design of the educational program. Conclusions: The study shows that the implementation of the 3R's strategy (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) had a significant impact on the environmental attitude of the students in the experimental group, improving their knowledge and behaviors towards solid waste management.
