Resumen

MONGELOS BARRIOS, Carlos Alberto et al. Seasonal productivity of Panicum cultivars. Rev. Inv. Cs. Agro. y Vet. [online]. 2024, vol.8, n.24, pp.851-860.  Epub 20-Sep-2024. ISSN 2664-0902.  https://doi.org/10.33996/revistaalfa.v8i24.308.

At the end of the 1960s, some cultivars of Panicum maximun were introduced in Paraguay, seeking to increase and improve the receptive capacity of the fields. This research was carried out at the National University of Concepción, Paraguay. Its objective was to evaluate the productive behavior of four cultivars of Panicum maximum. Height, cover, dry matter and leaf/stem ratio were measured in the common colonial, mombaza, tanzania and gatton panic, evaluated by season during the period from September 2021 to November 2022. The means of the evaluated determinations were subjected to analysis of variance and subjected to the Tukey Test (0.05%). It was determined that the gatton panic was the one that showed the least growth. Regarding coverage, no significant differences were found. Higher productions in dry matter were recorded in the summer, only significant statistical differences were found in favor of the colonial and mombaza.
