Resumen

DIAZ, Dante Alexander Farroñay  y  LAGOS, Jean Carlos Escurra. Hydraulic Modeling of Rainfall Intensity Impacts, Trujillo Perú. Rev. Inv. Cs. Agro. y Vet. [online]. 2024, vol.8, n.23, pp.610-621.  Epub 02-Mayo-2024. ISSN 2664-0902.  https://doi.org/10.33996/revistaalfa.v8i23.289.

During 2017 and 2024, disproportionate rainfall has become more frequent due to global overheating and climate change, resulting in significant economic and social losses. Therefore, hydraulic modeling is important to understand and plan actions to mitigate the impacts of these natural disasters. This research article focused on the design of a hydraulic model to evaluate the environmental impacts caused by variations in rainfall intensity in Trujillo. Historical rainfall intensity data and geo-referenced data, along with the use of specialized software, were used to create a model that can be used in future projects or environmental impact studies. This case report highlights the need for advanced methodologies for flood prevention and management, underlining the relevance of planning and technical analysis in the mitigation of risks associated with extreme weather events.
