Environmental Education is essential in the global educational system to promote a society committed to environmental preservation and sustainable development. This article reviews recent research in educational institutions, their curricular proposals, policies and teaching strategies. The methodology used was a qualitative systematic review with the PRISMA method, selecting 19 articles from 2015 to 2023 in the Scopus database. A concentration on recent articles stands out, mainly in 2023, evidencing a constant evolution in the research, with the year 2020 as a highlight; The unequal distribution of years suggests changes in the investigative focus. The studies highlight the importance of environmental policies at different levels, the link with the Sustainable Development Goals and the need to integrate Environmental Education in the curriculum to contribute to the formation of values, develop competencies and train individuals who are aware and committed to environmental sustainability and social transformation.
